RE: David J On Glass

The tracks on David J "On Glass" are -

The Promised Land
I Can't Shake this Shadow of Fear
Saint Jackie
A Seducer, A Doctor, A Card you Cannot Trust Crocodile Tears and the Velvet Cosh Revisited Ship of Fools
Night of the Silver Veil
4 Hours
The Conjurers Hand
This Viscious Cabaret
V's Theme (Intro)
Incidental
V's Theme (Outro)
The Party's Over

According to the liner notes, Max, the Butcher, Alex Green, Kevin Haskins, O.P Jones, Bill Thorp, and Josie Abbott (and of course David J) appear on the album. This Viscious Cabaret was put to music by David J but was actually part of the comic book (now available as a graphic novel) V for Vendetta. V's Theme(s) and Incidental are also part of the collaboration with Alan Moore (the writer of the comic) but I think they are instrumentals, I haven't listened to it in a long time so can't say for certain.

There are some great songs on this disk. The first 6 tracks are excellent as well as 4 Hours, This Viscious Cabaret (especially if you've read the comic), and The Party's Over is worth the price of the disk just to hear the Butcher singing along. Apparently he and David J were quite drunk and had to do multiple takes as David wanted it to come out just right. Just to give you the full take on it - according to the liner notes Max only plays guitar on Ship of Fools.

Mike

While browsing through www.cdnow.com I noticed they are taking orders for a David J "On Glass" CD, available March 3. Anyone know what tracks are on it? I've seen the album but don't know what's on it. I assume it will have some Max gems on it. If you haven't heard "Too Clever By Half" w/ Max on "bird guitar" you don't know what you're missing.
